Are Student Athletes Exploited? » NCAA Gridiron Gab:
It's the university that's being exploited but it's so addicted to the bucks it doesn't realize it. There should be no university program for training professional athletes. Let the professional teams set up and pay for their own farm system. The university then can get some bucks back by leasing stadium time for games. A first step in this direction is get rid of all athletic scholarships. Emphasize the STUDENT in student-athletes and let the pro jocks go elsewhere. Never happen, of course, never in a million years. There's not one university president, not one, with the balls to move in this direction.
