The Descendants

Read the script last night, saw the film today, Alexander Payne's new film reinforces his stature as my favorite contemporary director. First rate stuff.

    On your recommendation I saw "The Descendants" yesterday, I was not disappointed. I wonder though how many will get the sub-text of the story that we are indeed 'the protector of the land'.

    I lived in Hawaii (North Shore/Oahu) for many years, by the time the film ended I felt very homesick.

    I enjoy your blog...
