According to Portland's fired police chief:
But the final insult came Wednesday, moments after she agreed to leave her job.
Adams, she said, had a question for her:
"He asked me if I had any ideas about a chief to follow me."
She replied, "I've been informed you've already decided," she said, "so I don't know what the point would be."
Typical Adams. Also worth noting:
T.J. Browning, who heads the Police Bureau's budget advisory committee, said she couldn't understand how the mayor didn't know his proposed budget cuts would force the bureau to lay off officers.
"I'm so sick and tired of City Hall and our elected officials not doing their job, and because they don't do their jobs and they get caught not doing their job, they look around and go after the best chief of police we've had," Browning said.
"To fire Rosie because he's embarrassed because he got caught not doing his job is unconscionable. It was all over the place that we were going to lose positions, but yet he fires her, for what? Cover-up for his lack of oversight. I'm tired of our elected officials using public safety as their means for their personal grudges."
