Whole cloth
An extraordinary thing about my work over a long career is that it comes from whole cloth. I have a sense of each individual work, whether a story or play or video or song, being a chapter from a much larger work, that all the pieces add up to something coherent and all-encompassing. No one has ever paid enough attention to my work, or is likely to pay enough attention in the future (though occasionally I hallucinate otherwise), to see this but I see it clearly. I've been writing One Work, in many many bits and pieces.
