The joy of small moments
The older I get, the more I appreciate small moments in the day that would have passed unappreciated, or under-appreciated, when I was younger. For example, this afternoon I needed a break and so went to my local coffee shop for my usual large iced coffee. The help there rotates at a puzzling rhythm but over the years I've gotten to know many of them by recognition, and them me. A young woman I knew was working, and she saw me park and by the time I reached the counter, she had my iced coffee and a large grin waiting for me. It made my day.
