Acting
A snippet of video I put together from yesterday's rehearsal reveals some problems, which can be solved. Most actors around here get their training for stage, not film, and they tend to be "too big" for film or video. Hence here. The camera has no mercy and can exaggerate an innocent stage gesture into something so large it seems contrived and phony -- it looks like "acting." It's as if stage acting is explosive but film acting is implosive. Less is more. I think in all my projects I'll be trying to bring my actors down, not up. We'll see.
