Editing
The challenge in small film/video projects is sound. This has been my experience, especially during the years in the 80s when I worked for a direct-to-video company on location. So yesterday I set up some small experiments to see how hard it will be to cut sound. Say you have a character with three lines. You want the first in a medium shot and the last two close -- so you have two different video files you have to cut together. The video image is usually easy -- but how will the sound cut? Yesterday I satisfied myself that it can be done with the hardware I'm using. On the other hand, it did take me almost an hour to cut six seconds! I assume I'll get better at it ha ha.
